Description
VIRSA has been derived from the word ‘Virasat’ which means heritage. Virsa was initiated in 2016 with the prime purpose of preserving the rich cultural heritage of India by introducing it to the future generations of the country.
The objective was to inculcate cultural appreciation among children at a young age to ensure they have a holistic evolution as strong and wellbalanced individuals who will be the decision makers of tomorrow. The need
for the program arises from the inadequate state of cultural education in schools due to the stress of academic curriculum and therefore a culturally impoverished society, which is unable to avail the benets of the treasure of
culture, which exists in the country.
The program has been designed with the prime objective of making the rich cultural heritage of India accessible to school-going children and cultivating their interest in Indian culture. While it revives the age-old guru shishya
parampara for teaching arts, the program is aimed at promoting holistic development of children through exposure to culture and culture appreciation. It balances the stress induced by the current system of
education, which advocates excellence in academia at the exclusion of extracurricular activities.
Virsa offers classes in 14 disciplines including Hindustani Classical Vocal, Harmonium, Tabla, Carnatic Vocal, Carnatic Violin, Flute, Sitar, Bharatnatyam, Keyboard, Kathak, Guitar, Theatre, Brain Enhancement and Yoga.
The curriculum has been designed by esteemed maestros and our gurus to give the students across the world a meaningful experience and a carefully charted orientation of culture and art forms.
Virsa conducts two to three live interactive classes daily, 5 days a week. The teaching faculty comprises the leading exponents and maestros of the country.
